We use 100% nitrocellulose lacquer for almost any color. There are a few colors that were never available in nitrocellulose lacquer. For those colors we use a poly base-coat which is so thin that you can scrape it off with your fingernail. The main concern and reason for using nitrocellulose lacquer is film thickness and we make sure that your guitar has the thinnest possible finish possible.

We offer bodies made with Swamp Ash, Alder, Mahogany, and Basswood. We also offer hollow bodies with or without the f-hole. Hollow bodies can be made of two different kinds of wood such as a mahogany base with a maple top, alder on alder, or any other recipe that you can imagine. We only use bodies made by Tommy at USA Custom Guitars because they are the very best available - period. The bodies that I buy from them generally range from 3.5 lbs - 4.25 lbs depending on the type of wood used. Swamp Ash will be your lightest material with Tele bodies usually no more than 4 lbs.

We can finish a body in any color that you can imagine. If you see an automobile or motorcycle and know the year model we can match the color. For the purists I have a color chart just for you:

Candy colors, pearls, and flakes are also available. Keep in mind that metallics, pearls, and flakes will usually create a much thicker finish than a color such as Sonic Blue or Black will.
